Cultural differences...

This week we planted beans to study the plant structure and how to care for living things.

It's been a long time since I've written... sorry...I finally borrowed a digital camera to take a few pics of the kids. The first few weeks of school have been busy. My students are great in terms of their behavior. We are working on a few cultural things that are beginning to drive me nuts. Like the Miss Tara, Miss Tara, Miss Tara, Miss Tara and all the kids talking at once, the kids that say THIS IS MY INSIDE VOICE, the constant interupting, and the constant poking of my stomach to get my attention. These are all things that are culturally acceptable, but need some work in school.
These kids are a constant example of Christ in my life. They apologize when they have done something wrong, their prayers would bring the strongest man to his knees and the way they love and have compassion for everyone astounds me. Much of this is credited to God, but also to their 1st grade teacher, Jen Hagen, who did an amaizing job with them. I will forever be greatful to her.
Please pray for my class and for me as we begin our journey through second grade. May these kids grow even more in thier love for Jesus.
